Retro style weddings are making a come back and we love them. When picking a venue for a retro wedding you only have to make sure that the look isn't too modern. If you come from a family with a lot of heirlooms this is a perfect way to show case them and decorate your venue at the same time. Milk glass is a perfect fit for a retro wedding as well as using a pale turquoise and raspberry palette, as well as old table runners and hanging lanterns. The couple can arrive and drive off in a classic car to keep the theme going. Brides can find vintage wedding dresses at second hand shops that specialize in older gowns. At Affairs by Amy we love the old rustic look, however, you know what we love more than the old rustic look? Having the whole theme of an event be rustic or vintage. If this is the look you are going for then search no more. Last week we had the opportunity to meet with Melissa Of Pow Wow Vintage Rentals and Design Resource and we fell completely in love. She offers not only vintage accessories but is a designer and an artist as well. She can make the most boring photo shoot travel in time or give a modern couple the look of traveling gypsies. Pow Wow doesn't just bring the seating arrangements to the table, they bring the whole scene. If you are a bride or even just looking to throw in Melissa's words "a kick-ass party" and want a vintage theme, then she can do the job. From succulents to picture frames, she has it all and we adore her for her work and ability to transform a shoot or room into a timeless moment. We cant wait to work with her and hope you feel the same!
